Xiaomi has unveiled their second generation bezel-less phone in China, named after the first generation “Xiaomi Mi Mix 2!” This phone gets the ultrasonic speaker system hiding behind the display just like the first one. The phone is highly practical in both usability and performance. And on a first glance, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 looks like a phone from the future, like ones we have been seeing in sci-fi movies for years.
With the perfect 5.99-inch screen, it has decreased the previous generation’s size which was a 6.44-inch sharp edge display. However, to compete with 2017’s smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S8, Google’s Essential Phone, they introduced a curved edge display.
Build
This phone is more rounded than the previous sharp edge unibody structure. The aluminum frame surrounds a ceramic panel. There is also a special variant that Xiaomi introduced as the Mi Mix 2 Special Ceramic Edition which covers up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
A compromise for this type of phone has to do with the front camera. The makers got into a difficult situation when they were placing the front-facing camera, which has been seamlessly integrated into the bottom panel. You need to hold the phone upside down to take a better selfie sometimes. Otherwise, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has some High-end specifications.
