Apple is now really into wireless tech after all this time their new iPhone will have wireless charging capabilities. Now, third-party companies are making their own version of wireless charging pads. The Boost Up and Wireless Charging Base, are two charging pads that have been announced by Belkin and Mophie respectively. With or without the case they will supply up to 7.5W of electricity.
Without the wires, these Qi chargers will fully charge your iPhone 8 or iPhone X. The Belkin device (on the left) is larger and has an LED indicator to let you know when charging starts, while the Mophie model is more compact. The choice depends on personal preference.
The Boost Up will cost $60 and it will arrive first on stores including Apple’s own stores on September 15th. You have to wait till September 20th to get the Wireless Charging Base at a similar price point.
These are Qi-enabled chargers, so like you have guessed you don’t need an iPhone to make use of them. All Qi-compatible devices that consume 7.5W or less of power should work with them. You can put your Galaxy Note 8 on these chargers and charge it, and likewise, you don’t need this charger to charge the iPhone too. Any Qi pad should work.
Until Apple’s own AirPower technology hits store shelves, you probably won’t find a truly iPhone-optimized charging pad. So till then, these are the best chargers you can use with your swanky new iPhone.
