Individuals, news organizations, law enforcement agencies were all working to deconstruct the whole shooting accident. Unfortunately, web surfers were learning and spreading false information about the worst mass shooting in the modern U.S. history. However, FBI said that the Las Vegas Shooter had no connection to ISIS or any terrorist group.
Initially, fake news started flowing in social media that the shooter, Stephen Paddock is a leftist. Moreover, fake information appeared that he is a part of the leftist group Antifa.
Opinion from a Google Spokesperson:
“Unfortunately, early this morning we were briefly surfacing an inaccurate 4chan website in our search results for a small number of queries,” “Within hours, the 4chan story was algorithmically replaced by relevant results. This should not have appeared for any queries, and we’ll continue to make algorithmic improvements to prevent this from happening in the future.” These are the words from a Google spokesperson as Bloomberg said.
As a matter of fact, after a very short span of time news links were swarming in Facebook and Twitter that the Shooter is a part of ISIS. Eventually, renowned news organizations shared breaking news that ISIS claimed the responsibility for the inhuman Las Vegas shooting.
On the other hand, conscious internet users showed their loath for such way of spreading fake news. They opined, mass people should abstain from sharing the false discriminatory news.
