Apple’s new iPhone 8 is getting complaints from a number of consumers around the world that the phone’s batteries are swelling. The first complain appeared from Taiwan where a lady claimed that she had found her iPhone 8 swollen after plugging the phone in to charge. Besides that, a person from Japan under the name of @Magokoro0511 tweeted that his iPhone 8’s battery also swelled. There are similar complaints that came respectively from China, Canada, and Greece.
Investigation has been launched
Though it is not clear yet as to why Apple’s new iPhone 8 batteries are swelling, the company is already performing an investigation to find out the exact reason. Regarding the matter, Apple said in a statement that “We are aware and looking into it.”
On the other hand, according to the Verge, Sam Jaffe, the managing director of Cairn Energy Research Advisors said that “[Swelling is] very unusual for a brand-new battery and leads toward the direction of there’s something fundamentally wrong with this battery.”
It is rare for something like this to happen with Apple’s new iPhone. Owners of iPhone 8 are advised not to worry about their phones, and if anything happens, then to immediately report to a nearby Apple store.
