Next year in London the South Korean tech giant Samsung is going to open its mega showroom at the city’s King’s Cross district. Two anonymous spokespersons related to the fact said that Samsung has made an agreement to lease about 20,000 square feet at the top floor of the under-construction Coal Drops Yard mall. The showroom is supposed to open in October next year.
Designed by Thomas Heatherwick
Thomas Heatherwick is the main designer of the mall at King’s Cross where Argent Property Development Service is developing the whole mall on behalf of the King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership. By the way, Thomas Heatherwick is also designing Alphabet Inc.’s new Google campus in London.
According to the lease, it seems that Samsung’s mega-showroom in London would be the same size as Apple’s store which is based at Regent Street. Thanks to Samsung, Apple is getting a sheer competitor in London from next year.
Samsung has not made any comments on the matter as of yet.
