Apple has released iOS 11.1, the first major update of iOS 11 with a bunch of new emojis, 3D Touch multitasking, as well as bug fixes. Interestingly, this new update listens to those who aren’t happy enough with the existing emojis. Apple added over 70 new emojis including vampires and zombies, a hedgehog, Chinese takeout, a mermaid, and also a cursing smiley face. Apart from new emojis, this update also brings some old emojis with an improved design. However, to send and receive the new emojis, you will have to update your iPhone to iOS 11.1. Otherwise, they won’t appear in your keyboard picker, and in the place of new characters, you will only receive generic blocks and broken up emoji.
With this new update, Apple has also restored the popular 3D Touch multitasking on iPhone 6S and later. It will let you switch between two apps just by touching the left edge of the display with pressure.
iOS 11.1 also improves the reachability, means you can now reliably double tap the Home Button to lower the screen in more places, with smoother animation while tapping the top of the display to get back to the top of the window.
Well, a major update doesn’t just come with a handful of emojis. iOS 11.1 also comes with a number of bug fixes and security updates. Most notably of them is the fix for a major WPA2 Wi-Fi vulnerability, which previously let hackers pull out sensitive data and personal information by decrypting network traffic using a key reinstallation attack, aka Krack.
Stay tuned and install the new iOS 11.1 if you have the supported iPhone or iPad.
