Travelling to a new place will be a lot less stressful as Google is launching a new feature to Google Maps. This small but useful update will guide you through every step and provide interactive real-time notifications during your journey. And these updates may appear on your Android screen, along with the Google Maps app.
The idea here is simple, guiding you with real-time updates while you are on your transit journey. Just like before, open Google Maps and search for your transit direction. You will find a “start” button at the bottom of the screen with the details about your transit journey. As you walk or ride on your local trains and buses, you will get live updates.
Most importantly, this new update will notify you when to get off your bus or train when you’re closer to your stop. That’s, no doubt, very useful if you’re prone to sleep while traveling, or you’re visiting a new place.
Notification on the lock screen is another great feature. The notifications are interactive, means you can scroll right through your journey’s steps. Google may be testing this new feature outside of its trusted tester community and will probably roll out this update very soon.
