Imagine whenever you open Facebook, your newsfeed is full of someone’s irritating jokes, memes, or photos of their recent vacation which you really don’t want to see right now. Well, you are not alone. We all have that one friend who annoys us quite frequently. However, we don’t want to permanently unfriend or unfollow them. That’s where Facebook has come to the rescue. The company just introduced Snooze, which lets you mute any person, page, and post for 30 days.
Once you hit the Snooze option, you won’t see posts from your friend or that particular page for 30 days. This is pretty helpful when you don’t want to unfollow someone for good; all you want is a break. You can reverse the setting at any time and will be informed before the Snooze period is over.
Getting control over Facebook’s newsfeed isn’t anything new. We already have Unfollow, Hide, See First, Report options by which we decide which post we want to see and which we don’t. This Snooze option, which was tested out earlier this year, is now available to everyone. This temporary unfollow option isn’t anything severe but will give you more control over your newsfeed. Now, you can delete someone from your friend list, hide them, stop following them permanently or temporarily, the choice is yours.
