Soon after Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and co-founder of Tesla made a surprise appearance at the SXSW 2018 Westworld panel, he posted the video about the inaugural Falcon Heavy launch from the Westworld creators in two parts on Instagram.
Dubbed as “Falcon Heavy and Starman,” the videos show the preparation, success, and failures of the Falcon Heavy launch last month. What I love most about those videos is that, instead of just bragging about their success, they include the loss of the center booster as well.
“There are a lot of terrible things happening all over the world, all of the time,” Musk said, referring to the launch of Falcon Heavy. “There are lots of problems that need to get solved. Lots of things that are miserable and kind of get you down.”
“But life cannot just be about solving one miserable thing after another,” he added. “That can’t be the only thing. They need to be things that inspire you, that make you glad to wake up in the morning and be part of humanity. That’s why we did this.”
To create this short video, Jonathan Nolan, and Joy Lisa, the creators of Westworld had previously worked with Elon Musk. And of course, there’s no lack of David Bowie for the music.
