Last week on March 7 in the condition of anonymity, the source told to the ET news that “Apple has decided to remove the notch from next year and has already started discussing technical issues with suppliers.” The person also added that “Detailed specifics such as the size and shape of the OLED-based display have not yet been unveiled.”
Regarding of the report, a question may concern that if Apple ditches the notch design from its upcoming iPhone then where the company would set up its front-facing camera, sensors for Face ID and more importantly the sophisticated 3-D facial recognition features? Well, following the question the source said that from now on Apple would use all these features for all new iPhones. Also added that instant of notch design on top of the phone, Apple could relocate all these features under the display panel or a tiny hole is likely to remain to support some functions.
However, next year is still a long way to come, but we are looking forward to see that what Apple brings this year for its iPhone lovers.
