Most of the car companies are planning to produce the electric cars. In fact, it’s becoming a trend. But, one of the most accepted sports car brands has a different plan. McLaren won’t follow its peers.
Formula E electric car racing
Jolyon Nash, director of global sales and marketing at McLaren says he doesn’t know that much about the Formula E electric car racing. Conversely, other similar car brands were actually supporting the event.
Hannah Elliott of Bloomberg reported that “I asked him (Mr Nash) what he thought in general about electrified powertrains in global Formula racing. ‘To be quite frank, whatever thoughts I’ve got will be quite uneducated,” Nash Said. “I’m a traditionalist. I love to hear the sound of an engine going around a track. Formula E doesn’t provide that.
McLaren typically unveils…
He further said, “we wouldn’t want to produce a car just to demonstrate technology- that is just not us, Nash Said. McLaren typically unveils limited and one-off versions of its cars, like the Senna GTR, rather than extremely futuristic conceptual forms filled with foam.”
According to the Bloomberg report, high-end car brands like, Corvette, Mercedes- Maybach, Rolls Royce, Ferrari and alike will make electric cars. Nonetheless, McLaren remains negative about it. McLaren won’t make any electric cars in near future.
