According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, coming on March 27 in an event in Chicago, the American tech giant Apple is going to launch a cheaper iPad model targeting students and teachers. The company is now trying to win back its ground in the education market while Google is still dominating in the same market with the maximum share of %60 selling its cheaper Chromebooks and Android tablets.
Though Apple is telling about a cheaper iPad model to be announced, nevertheless the company officially hasn’t announced yet that how much its upcoming cheaper iPad would be. By the way, according to the current market price, a 9.7-inch iPad costs $330 which is considered as a cheaper price of an iPad.
On the opposite side, there is numerous company like Asus, Samsung and Acer are selling their Chromebooks, not over $300. So, it is clear that if Apple wants to compete with Google or Samsung in the educational market, then the company must offer its new iPad in the $300 budget.
There is another whisper that aiming at students Apple is also working on a cheaper Mac which may announce later of this year. However, first thing first, as the upcoming event is just a couple of days away to hold, therefore, we are looking forward seeing that with the how much price Apple brings its new iPad for students and teachers which can be enhanced with an iOS VPN.

Way, way too late. This space has been won by Google and Apple should focus elsewhere. When you see headlines like
“At Apple CEO Tim Cook’s old high school, they are selling their MacBooks to buy Chromebooks”
I talk to teachers at my kids conferences about the Chromebooks and the Google ecosystem and it is NOT simply about price. It is just a far better fit. So the LAST thing Apple should do is lower price trying to compete. Also this is not just about the Chromebooks but the entire K12 ecosystem.
Apple needs to create a far better solution for the schools. The last thing I ever thought I would see Apple do is lower price to try to be competitive.
