No more Intel’s chips are using in Apple Mac computers but in the future, the American tech giant is likely to be using its own made chips not only in its Mac computers but its other devices as well. However, Bloomberg recently has reported that making Apple’s own chips the company is going to replace Intel’s Mac chips by 2020.
Tentatively, the code name of the chip is called Kalamata which is now in the early stage of development, according to a reliable source from the industry said to the Bloomberg on the condition of an anonymity.
By the way, regarding of the fact, Shannon Cross, an analyst from Cross Research said that “We think that Apple is looking at ways to further integrate their hardware and software platforms, and they’ve clearly made some moves in this space, trying to integrate iOS and macOS. It makes sense that they’re going in this direction. If you look at incremental R&D spend, it’s gone into ways to try to vertically integrate their components so they can add more functionality for competitive differentiation.”
Apple didn’t say anything in reaction and so Intel said that “We don’t comment on speculation about our customers”.
