CNBC reported that Bezos revealed the numbers of the members of Amazon Prime worldwide. The writes, “Bezos also disclosed for the first time that Prime now exceeds 100 million members worldwide. In 2017 alone, Amazon added more Prime members than any prior year, and shipped over five billion items through the paid membership service worldwide”.
Prime got expansion
The CEO himself explained how Prime got expansion over the span of 13 years. Moreover, members truly enjoy the benefit Prime gives. In fact, five billion shipments took place in 2017 alone.
The richest man on earth, Bezos further said, Prime got the highest number of members signed up in 2017. Additionally, one more significant thing happened in 2017 for Amazon is beginning to offer Prime to residents in Mexico, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
Customers are divinely discontent
“One thing I love about customers is that they are divinely discontent,” he writes in his letter. “Their expectations are never static — they go up. It’s human nature. We didn’t ascend from our hunter-gatherer days by being satisfied. People have a voracious appetite for a better way, and yesterday’s ‘wow’ quickly becomes today’s ‘ordinary’. I see that cycle of improvement happening at a faster rate than ever before” as Jeff Bezos write in the letter.
