During I/O 2018, Google Home can do a bunch of new things as Google’s smart Assistant gets updates, as the search engine giant revealed. Moreover, the smart assistant not only lives within the Google Home devices, but also lives inside the Google app, the latest Android, and Pixel phones.
However, the assistant became more efficient. It can handle multiple requests at once. Moreover, it can speak in new voices or listen for continuous questions. Though, Google Home isn’t as popular as Amazon’s Alexa. Nonetheless, for Google Home users, it’s a good news.
Now, Google assistant can speak in two different tones, both men and women and six different voices. In fact, Google included singer John Legend’s voice. His voice will chime in to surprise the Google Assistant users.
Google added a new feature called “Continued Conversation”. Consequently, now, you needn’t say “Okay Google” or “Hey Google” like before when going for follow-up questions. Actually, users were requesting for this a lot.
In addition, Google Assistant became more user-friendly on smartphones. Google is focusing more on the visual side for the Assistant. The assistant will picture answering your questions. Say, if you ask the Assistant to adjust your thermostat, it will show you a meter.
You can have food using Google’s latest food pick-up and delivery feature. You just need to surf through menus and order from different places like Applebee’s and Starbucks. Moreover, for that, you don’t need to speak the whole order out-loud.
