Earlier this year, Apple announced that it might be in a new location. Apple’s going to have a new campus near to Duke University. Interestingly, Duke University happened to be the school where Apple CEO, Tim Cook including other top executives attended for their degrees.
Apple’s search for the new location
According to several top sources, Apple reportedly chose North Carolina’s Research Triangle region for a new campus. Moreover, on May 11, state Commerce Secretary Tony Copeland and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper met the Apple CEO, Tim Cook.
Though, the project is far away from the final decision. In fact, Apple officially didn’t respond to the news. As Apple traditionally doesn’t share information regarding economic development project until they are final.
Amazon’s search for a second headquarter
Apple’s search for a new campus location is being conducted in secret. That’s in contrast to Amazon’s search for a second headquarter, which issued an open request for proposals.
The tech giant was looking for a site for its new campus secretly. In contrast, Amazon’s search for a location was quite public. As a matter of fact, the company issued an open proposal on this matter. Regardless of the contrast, there is a similarity between these two tech giants that both of them are weighing up South Carolina.
