Caviar, the Russian high-end accessory maker has unveiled its latest solar-powered iPhone X. Named iPhone X “Tesla,” this custom made phone includes a solar panel on the back and a secondary battery.
The carbon fiber case surrounding the shock resistant solar panel is attached directly to the iPhone X itself, making it considerably thicker from 7.7 mm to 16.2 mm. Caviar claims the entire assembly has IP67 water and dust resistance.
Well, this new iPhone X “Tesla” has no official connection with Tesla. Caviar was inspired by the company and giving the first unit to Elon Musk. This particular unit has the engraving “Made on Earth by Humans” in honor of when Musk sent a Tesla Roadster into space aboard a Falcon Heavy rocket back in February.
Although Caviar was initially going to produce 99 units of this custom made iPhone X, the increasing number of pre-order made them change the number to 999 units. The price of iPhone X “Tesla” isn’t something you usually pay for a high-end phone. You need to pay a whopping $4,555 for 64GB of storage and $4,805 for 256GB of storage.
