Hitlist was a flight app founded in 2014 for finding low fare, bargain priced flights. The app is simple to use that provides travel inspiration. It offers an addicting and interactive interface for selecting a particular destination and finding friends who have the same travel interest. A list of popular destinations is shown with a photo and a baseline price indicating the cheapest fare from the traveler’s local airport. It also shows a list of cities traveled offering bucket-list style for travelers. Since its launch, travelers have collectively saved over $25 million by booking timely on their flights, the company claims.
Now the app has introduced a new premium subscription model that will serve as a flight tracker and act as a mobile travel agent. The company banked on 4 years of data which further developed into a machine learning algorithm. The algorithm along with AI sorts through a data of 50 million fares per day that appeal to each user individually. The subscription is available on iOS as an in-app purchase for $4.99 per month.
It would not harm to say that Hitlist along with this premium upgrade is a one-stop solution for low fare flights. Some of the features of this premium models include:
Users can filter airline deals with options of knowing the carrier, number of stops and the time of flight for both the departure and return.
Exclusive fares for only members
Hitlist is working with airlines to market an exclusive and closed user group. This will only include exclusive members-only fares that aren’t accessible through flight search engines for everyone. Only Hitlist users can only get this deal through select travel agents that market to a closed user group.
Custom travel advice
Unlike conventional flight search engines and apps, Hitlist does not offer a chatbot interaction. CEO Gillian Morris feels that it is not personalized enough and usually travelers do not prefer to talk to a chatbot. Instead of chat, Hitlist offers customized suggestions and helpful travel advice to its users with the help of an expert team. For example, it suggests the suitable days to fly, inform about baggage fees, local attractions and current events of what might happen at the particular destination.
