
Apple is yet again ready to show the world its future innovations and announcements. It will kick off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2018) at San Jose, California. It commences from June 4 onwards at 10 am PT.
What to expect
All four of Apple’s operating systems, macOS, iOS, tvOS, and watchOS, will go through major updates and the announcements are touted to be as follows:
New models for MacBooks and iPads
New laptop models with ARM-based processors with a quad-core “Coffee Lake” are in the works. Apple will also refresh 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Pro models with the latest chips and keyboards from Intel. A low budget laptop plus an iPad Pro with Face ID are in the plans too.
Apple Watch
Apple is working on new models of Apple watches which will be more edgy and stylish than previous models. These will be compatible with the older devices. Apple watch will honor Pride month (June). The watch face features a blue background with rainbow stripes.
iOS apps in MacOS
iOS apps will run on Mac operating systems which will make Apple computers and phones work seamlessly with each other. The cross-platform will help solve Mac’s app ecosystem problems.
Digital Health
Digital health tools will be implemented in Apple devices to make users reflect on the amount of time spent online. The tools will notify users on total time spent using the phone and its individual apps. The company is trying to remove negative effects of tech addiction of its devices amongst teenagers
Apple TV
It will become a fully-featured streaming service, including original series and films from movie theaters.
ARKit 2.0
This feature adds multiplayer AR environments enabling multiple users to share the same environment and facilitates IRL multi-person games and other activities.
Apple Pay Cash
It will launch in new territories like the UK. This feature allows users to send money to other contacts via iMessage.
iPhone SE2
iPhone SE2, a smartphone that will be an update to Apple’s budget phone will most probably be announced.
