We all know that Microsoft is lack of exclusive games as the company has never had as many internal studios as Nintendo or Sony. However, the Xbox company is currently working on rectifying this situation. On Sunday, Xbox head Phil Spencer announced that Microsoft now has five new game studios, which will add to the company’s considerable heft in first-party game development.
One of these companies is Playground Games, the developer behind the Forza racing series. Founded in 2010, it has been an Xbox partner for such a long time.
Undead Labs created the State of Decay, Compulsion Games is currently working on its new title We Happy Few. Ninja Theory is quite popular for creating 2017’s breakout indie hit Hellblade.
The fifth company is an all-new studio named the Initiative headed by Darrell Gallagher, former Crystal Dynamics head of studio. All the new game studios will be housed beneath the Microsoft Studios brand. The company will utilize these developers to fill out its library of exclusives on Xbox One, and more likely its Xbox Game Pass library.
