One of the most challenging tasks in this digital era is controlling your kids’ access to the internet. As a concerned parent, you don’t want your kids to spend a lot of time on their smartphone or watch any inappropriate content. But how do control them? T-Mobile might have a solution for this. The company just announced FamilyMode, a new parental control setup that lets parents control over their kids’ online activities, as well as screen time.
The setup is basically a combo of an app and a Home Base device. The FamilyMode app is available on both iOS and Android, which will allow you to control your kids’ phone or tablet wherever they are located – on a cellular network or Wi-Fi. Once you set up the Home Base, you can control which device you want to your kids’ profile straight from the app. The best part is, the devices aren’t limited to only smartphones and tablets; you can control laptops, smart TVs, and any other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
What can you control?
Actually, the question should be what you can’t. You can limit the time of your child’s online access, filter out inappropriate content. You can pause and resume their online activities based on the situation. If you have more than one kid, you can control who can access which sites. Its real-time location information lets you find out where your kids are. Besides, you can reward them with extra time on the internet if you want to.
