Want to spend the summer testing out some software bugs? Apple got you covered. The Cupertino company just released iOS 12 public beta, allowing you to test some of its newest features.
Apple won’t release the finalized version of iOS 12 until the fall. However, if you can’t wait to discover the greatest features, enroll in the company’s free public beta program and access the early version of the software.
Features you’re going to test
You must be wondering what are the greatest features you’re going to test out in iOS 12 public beta. The new iOS will let you create memoji that looks like you. You can stick out your tongue, turn yourself into a dinosaur or ghost and use it during a FaceTime conversation. With this latest update, you can have a group FaceTime conversation with up to 32 people.
Other great features are a Screen Time app that tells you for how long you’re using the device, and a revamped Do Not Disturb feature, which includes a bedtime mode. Besides, the Do Not Disturb mode comes with a new option from the Control Center, where you can set it to end automatically based on a specified location or time. However, you won’t be able to use the Siri Shortcuts in the beta version.
Install at your own risk
Just like the previous beta versions, iOS 12 public beta is likely containing errors and inaccuracies. There is also huge possibility that some of the apps may not function properly and end up damaging your device. So, it’s highly recommended that you do not download this beta version in your primary device. If you have only one iPhone or iPad, make sure to back up all your data. Once you have everything backed up, you are ready to explore the latest (beta) version of iOS 12.
