Trending technology is literally everywhere! It has even caught up with aviation business with Emirates being the first airlines to introduce cutting-edge 3D VR seat models on its website portal. The 3D seat models were created in collaboration with Spanish company Renacen.
Visitors can now explore the interiors of Emirates A380 and the Emirates Boeing 777 virtually. They will get a chance to explore their seats, the cabin, and the Emirates onboard products. Users can also explore economy, business and first class cabins of the airline’s planes including the lounge and shower spa of the Airbus.
“As we continually invest to provide our customers with an unmatched travel experience onboard and on the ground, we also work very hard to give our customers a world-class digital experience” Alex Knigge, Emirates’ senior vice president, corporate communications, marketing and brand (digital).
This virtual tech tool allows customers to navigate from one seat to the other and even allows future passengers to book their preferred seats. It is compatible with all devices without the need for external applications or plug-ins. Users can enjoy and explore hands-free cabin navigation and seat selection by using a VR headset like Google Cardboard. They can also sit in various seats in each section to check out the view and position of their seat, in addition, to flick the cabin lights on and off.
Customers can visit emirates.com or associated apps to book flight seats by exploring the VR environment. This will reduce the hassle of passengers of standing in a queue or trying to cancel an online booking if they did not like the seats they received. It will be less annoying arguing over aisle or window seats with travel agents or fellow passengers. Passengers will have a clear idea on the selected seat by first virtually checking them out.
