This year hasn’t been quite good for Tesla, considering some fatal accidents, as well as an autopilot related death. While the Model 3 should be safe, you can never be so sure without an official crash result. However, there is a crash result now and turns out its tougher than you think. Redditor StapleGun has described an incident, which might be the first rollover crash of a Tesla Model 3. And it seems like the vehicle has done a great job by protecting its lone occupant.
The accident happened earlier this week when his wife was traveling alone in the car. after colliding with a second vehicle in the middle lane, the Model 3 tumbled multiple times before ending upside down. Despite having a glass roof and facing the violent crash, the Model 3’s cabin was fully intact. StapleGun’s wife came out of the car alive, emerged with a compression fracture, bruising and a friction burn from an airbag.
Well, this incident is certainly not a proof of the cars’ resilience and doesn’t wipe off Tesla’s other safety concerns. However, the accident proves that Tesla Model 3 comes with at least a solid design, and the company didn’t sacrifice safety to meet the production goals.
