According to the Bloomberg report, last night the Chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. sealed several of its factories as because of a computer virus hit its systems.
Basically, Chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co known as the largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world supplies components for a number of companies like ADM, Apple, Nvidia, and Qualcomm. The company stated that the virus infected a “number of its fabrication tools,” but that the “degree of infection varies” from factory to factory, therefore, the TSMC sealed its factories. Oh, by the way, the company assured that they were not affected by hackers but only computer viruses.
Regarding the fact, CFO Lora Ho said that “TSMC has been attacked by viruses before but this is the first time a virus attack has affected our production lines.” However, she didn’t unveil anything about the affected lines were producing processors for Apple or not but we think the situation will go back to the normal soon.
